Hypnosis can Help You Overcome old Habits
by/margit cathrine moller

“Another fresh new year is here . . . Another year to live! To banish worry, doubt, and fear, To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me To live each day with zest . . . To daily grow and try to be My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity Once more to right some wrongs, To pray for peace, to plant a tree, And sing more joyful songs!

” William Arthur Ward

The New Year is always a chance to begin anew and to make it right. But I suggest that instead of making resolutions, why not make new habits? Why not substitute old habits that are unhealthy and unproductive with habits that bring health, peace and abundance.

Old habits are hard to break because they are deeply ingrained in our psyche. They are like scripts that are constantly replayed. The only way to change them is to visit our subconscious and rewrite this script using hypnosis.

There are at least two things that hypnotherapy can do to rewire your brain:

TO CREATE A MENTAL IMAGE THAT REJECTS THE OLD HABIT

Hypnosis helps you create a living picture in your mind of all the negative things about the old habit, its ugliness, its risks, its silliness, and its waste of time and money. This picture should be strong enough that it is like a memory implanted in the brain. Then, the hypnotist can guide you to reject this image by saying words like ENOUGH, NO MORE AND NEVER AGAIN. You decide to reject this old habit.

TO CREATE A MENTAL IMAGE THAT ATTRACTS THE NEW HABIT

The other thing that hypnosis can do is to create a mental image that makes the brain accept the new habit as more attractive, a better option. This image making makes the brain welcome the new habit so that I commands the will to decide to change.

This is a process of course, and oftentimes, it has to be repeated. But with the right dedication and intention, hypnosis is much better than just writing new year’s resolutions.

Ever since then man's success or failure has been dependent on the one he used most."

Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all life really means.

Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.
