An Easter Message of Peace

“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you will have tribulation,” Jesus warned. “But be of good cheer: I have overcome the world” (Jn 16:33).

As the whole humanity joins the Christian world in the celebration of Easter, I thought it might be appropriate to move away from my usual blog content and write an Easter message for my family, friends, and clients.

Whatever our religion is, it is always the desire of the soul to experience Peace. This is the one the best message of the Resurrected Jesus, “Peace be with you.”

The world today is in turmoil. The unrest in the Middle East and North African countries; the massive natural disasters all over the world; the rising cost of fuel which affects our food prices – all these create an atmosphere of fear and chaos.

But as mature and empowered individuals, we have the strength to face all these events, the wisdom to find meaning; the intelligence to articulate our learning; and the serenity to let all these motivate us towards our goals and desires.

Peace is not so much the absence of turmoil, but it is finding our true center despite the turmoil around us. Peace comes not from avoiding sailing because the waters are rough and the waves are strong; it comes from our trust that our boat is strong enough to navigate the rough seas and that we are competent enough to sail smoothly despite the waves.

As a counselor, coach, and healer, I wish that all my clients are empowered not to avoid the real world, but to face it with a deep sense of inner peace.

Happy Easter to one and all!

Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all life really means.

Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You’ll find what you need to furnish it – memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.
